Terms of Service

Last updated 16 August 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Favicons, a drop-in favicon image API operated at https://favicons.vblinden.dev (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy.

The Service

Favicons resolves, caches, and serves favicon images for domains you request. You may hotlink image URLs from the Service in your own applications, websites, and products, subject to these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.

The Service may also publish aggregate information, such as a leaderboard of frequently requested domains. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

No accounts

The Service does not currently require accounts. Access is provided over HTTP endpoints. Abuse controls such as rate limits may apply.

Third-party content

Favicons fetched through the Service typically originate from third-party websites. We do not claim ownership of those icons, trademarks, or brand assets. You are responsible for ensuring your use of any favicon complies with applicable law and third-party rights.

Availability and changes

We provide the Service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, particular response times, icon accuracy, or continued support for any endpoint, parameter, or behavior.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of the Service is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed €0, because the Service is provided without charge unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless the operator of the Service from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of third-party rights.

Termination

We may restrict, rate-limit, or block access that violates these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or that threatens the stability or security of the Service or others.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
